Playmats see a lot of use - cards sliding across them, hours of gameplay, and travel to events. Proper care helps keep the surface smooth, the artwork sharp, and the rubber backing in good shape over time.

Cleaning Your Playmat

Over time, dust, oils, and small debris from cards can accumulate on the surface of your playmat. Regular cleaning helps preserve the smooth cloth surface and vibrant artwork.

Light Cleaning

For everyday maintenance:

  1. Use a soft damp cloth or sponge

  2. Gently wipe the surface

  3. Allow the mat to air dry completely

This removes dust and oils that build up during normal play.

Deep Cleaning

If the mat gets noticeably dirty, you can give it a deeper clean.

  1. Use cold water and mild soap

  2. Gently clean the cloth surface

  3. Avoid scrubbing aggressively

Do not use:

  • Bleach

  • Harsh chemicals

  • Abrasive scrubbers

These can damage the cloth surface and artwork.

Machine Washing

Playmats can safely be washed in a washing machine if done correctly.

Safe Machine Wash Instructions

  • Use cold water only

  • Select a delicate or gentle cycle

  • Use mild detergent

After washing:

  • Do NOT tumble dry

  • Air dry flat

Heat from a dryer can warp the rubber backing and damage the stitching.

Proper Storage

Storage makes a difference in how well your playmat holds its shape.

Always Store Your Playmat Rolled

Never fold your playmat. Folding can cause permanent creases in the cloth surface and rubber backing.

For best results:

  • Roll the mat art side facing outward

  • Store it in a cool, dry place

  • Keep it away from extreme heat

Rolling with the artwork outward helps reduce edge curling over time.
